Founding members, Carlos and Lua, former members of the internationally recognized Spanish rock group, We Are Balboa, met in Carlos' hip night club in Madrid in the midst of the Spanish capital's music scene. With We Are Balboa, they released several critically acclaimed records produced by Jon Gray (The Zutons, The Subways, Editors). Now living in Brooklyn, Carlos and Lua formed Gold Lake with drummer Dave Burnett and bassist Dave Wyss. Just a few short months after getting together, they recorded their first EP with producer Gus Oberg (Albert Hammond Jr.), and were invited to showcase at this year's SXSW and NXNE festivals.

Wellington band, Glass Vaults, make emotive music that has been described as post-ambient and glacial pop. Their live show takes the spaciousness and melodic clarity of their recorded work and stretches it into wall of sound environments moving through lush, fully realised universes of textural sound with equal premiums on vocal and melodic clarity.
