Formed in the summer of 2007, The Lawsuits hail from New Hope, PA. Their roots rock sound features an eclectic mix of folk and blues that promotes an air of positivity, complete with tambourines, handclaps, and harmonica riffs.
Their no frills musicianship and earnest lyrics draw comparisons to The Band and Bob Dylan. Frontman Brian Dale Allen Strouse rasps about love, hope, and a desire to belong in songs like "Summer Lea" and "Dancing in Church," as Vanessa Winters coos along.
The Lawsuits sound less like a manufactured reworking of the past, and more like a group that uses familiar elements as a tool to bring people together. Their upcoming EP Hot Love will be released in early 2012.
