Madteo
Madteo
Madteo is a bit of a personality. That much is obvious from his idiosyncratic releases for the likes of Morphine, Hinge Finger and Wania. The Queens, New York-based producer makes raw and gritty tracks heavily influenced by Detroit house legends like Theo Parrish and Moodymann. But perhaps an even bigger love is hip-hop: He interned at a label just as New York's scene was at its mid-'90s apex, and he continues the experimental tradition of its most inventive beatmakers through his work with local MC Sensational. As you might expect from the mind that makes such quirky music, Madteo tends to wander in conversation. In late July, RA's Jordan Rothlein did his best to rein him in.
Anthony Naples
Anthony Naples
As a newcomer to the NYC electronic scene, Anthony Naples sure has been stirring things up.

Growing up in Miami and developing a penchant for artists like DJ Laz and Power 96, Anthonyhas honed in on his craft and incorporated these sounds of the times. His first release on the newly founded Mister Saturday Night label is also their first. Tracks like Mad Disrespect andTusk are built with Garage and Jersey Sound in mind; vintage sounding drum machines swing off time with paired vocal samples.

He's also garnered a fair share of praise from musicians like Four Tet, who says "this will be one of the tunes of the year."

Catch Mr. Naples as he spins alongside Brooklyn Bass Residents Judge Wise, T'Angelo, and Evan Michael for a late night session at Cameo Gallery that is sure to not be missed.
T'Angelo
T'Angelo
Co-creator/editor of Brooklyn Bass: You've probably seen this six-foot tall taco-loving Aquarius at the monthly Cameo party he hosts with co-editors Judge Wise and Evan Michael, opening for artists like Juan Atkins, Machinedrum, Sepalcure, Juan Maclean, Slow Hands, Madteo or Anthony Naples. Expect a timeless techno/house/garage smashup that is sure to get feet stomping.
Judge Wise (Brooklyn Bass)
Judge Wise (Brooklyn Bass)
Judge Wise is also an editor of Brooklyn Bass and resident of their monthly Cameo Gallery parties. An avid tinkerer and sound design lover, he plays host to teaching at Dubspot in manhattan as well. Whether it’s playing tracks from favorites like I:Cube or Pittsburgh Track Authority, Judge Wise is consistent in mixing sets of Deep House and Garage as well as the occasional Disco tune.
Evan Michael (Brooklyn Bass)
Evan Michael (Brooklyn Bass)
During a nomadic childhood, Evan Michael experienced an array of music scenes across the nation that inspired his earliest music efforts. A summer abroad in Madrid, however, served as a catalyst for Evan's foray into club culture and electronic music.

After joining Boston's DJ circuit, Evan went on to settle in Brooklyn, where a rich and diverse underground community helped fuel his passion for creating original productions. As a promoter, nightlife curator of Cameo (one of the borough's beloved nightclubs) and editor of Brooklyn Bass, Evan is adept not only at understanding the music industry but also at constructing a proper dance floor gathering, as evidenced in his own sets and original productions.

Inspired by the sounds of retro disco, classic house and funk labels like Tabu, Dance Mania and Prelude, Evan is continuously driven to incorporate small elements of the past and molding them into new and interesting ways in his own work.
